According to unofficial sources, the maximum file size that you can transfer using QQ International is 50 MB. For anything larger than that I recommend using cloud sharing services like Google Drive or Dropbox.
No, it's not possible to see who used your account 4 months ago. If you still have access to your account, then connect to the web interface, if the system allows it and check the available logs and history. You might see only the connection time or the fact you've logged on chat. No other application of this type allows users to see a history of their activity.

Open QQ messenger and click the add button. You can enter QQ number, nickname, or address. It's best to use the Find option based on various filters which allows you to search for your friends. The classical way to add a friend is enter his QQ ID into the field after you press the ADD button.

The most common errors are related to the Internet connection and the firewall. In many cases, the ISP blocks QQ Chat. You can use a VPN to connect to your chat. There are plenty on Google. Check your Internet connection, add the file to your firewall's exception list and use a VPN to connect.

There are multiple issues that could be at play here. Try to uninstall and install the software again, see if that helps. Your laptop may not be connected to the Internet properly; since you can log in with your phone it somehow shows that the problem is not server-related. Check your Internet connection, see if you have any proxy settings set that may cause these issues.
You can try to check if your internet is running by simply opening the Windows Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and type, for example: ping -t google.com. At this point if you are receiving data packets and there is a stable feedback without timeout your Internet connection should be working just fine.
I use QQ on my mobile to do business with Chinese. I have some problems with the application:
I can't open any image on QQ. If anyone sends a photo, when I try to open it, the whole app stops.

To log in on the PC version of the QQ application, you first have to register your email address in the application. There is a section that allows you to attach an email address to an already created account. After you have added and configured the email, you can install the PC version of the QQ IM and log-in and that's it. After you log-in, add the photo you want to your profile. This is how these applications works (eg. WhatsApp, Line, Viber, etc.)
In order to solve the problem, I suggest you upgrade the application to the latest version. You can download and install it from the official web page. If this doesn't help, temporarily disable your antivirus program and see if you can use the application. If it works, go to your security software settings and set your antivirus to allow QQ International to communicate through firewall. If you still have issues, you can use the [email protected] e-mail address to get in touch wint Tencent Technical Support.
QQ International is available only for Android devices. You can simply install it from QQ International web page. After it is installed, you may need to sign up for an account if you haven’t got one already. You can check the beginner's guide to find more about this instant messaging application.
